Finding love and romance can be a full-time job! Two-Time Emmy Award Winning broadcast journalist turned travel-blogger Julia Yarbough is sharing her story of taking a leap of faith to redesign her life in hopes of finding Mr. Right through the hit blog/website “Highway to a Husband.”

“After 22 amazing years in the TV news business filled with awesome travels, excellent friends and unbelievable experiences, I knew the moment had come to set aside time for myself to explore life, love and see our beautiful country from the ground up. My choice of a cross-country road-trip with hopes of finding my Mr. Right may seem crazy, but I believe you have to first find yourself in order to find your soul-mate. This trip is opening my eyes to new possibilities every day! I believe broadening your mind and heart to new cities, people and possibilities increases your chances of finding that special someone.”

Julia’s travel partner and best friend Silva Harapetian, also an award-winning broadcast journalist was laid off from her reporting job in Detroit, Michigan. Instead of lamenting the downsizing, Silva decided she would use her broadcast/journalism talents in a creative new format. Now as the women  travel together 24/7 producing “Highway to a Husband” they are utilizing their media expertise but experiencing life to the fullest, altering their realities and taking chances every step of the way.

“We effectively removed all of our safety and comfort zones and stepped into the unknown,” says Silva. “We stepped away from our careers, our homes, our family and friends in order to allow ourselves to experience everything and anything that comes our way. “Highway to a Husband” is a fascinating journey because not only are we are redesigning our lives but what we are learning about life, dating and relationships we are now able to share with women and men!”

The topic of finding love seems to resonate with most everyone. Julia realized  population statistics were working against her and many women. According to recent census figures, 95.9 million Americans are single and 53% of those singles are women. In South Florida, the numbers are even more grim - women outnumber men by almost  3 to 1. With such sobering numbers, why not take to the country in hopes of finding Mr. Right?

Julia and Silva are traveling, by car, coast-to-coast and blogging every step of the way at HIGHWAYTOAHUSBAND.COM! The journalists are telling stories, snapping pictures recording video and taking in the sights and sounds of cities and National Parks across the United States. Julia and Silva have traveled through Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, California, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland exploring the unique nuances of the dating world and how men and women communicate and relate in each community.

I hope to cross paths with the man who will be my husband but by sharing our experiences, we are helping other singles connect,” says Julia.

What is it about human nature that makes some individuals say and do things which are just WRONG? Whether it's breaking laws, ignoring public decency or treating others with disrespect, there seems to be a meltdown of polite behavior in our society. My dear friend and PHOTOJOURNALIST Stanley Roberts has taken observations of BAD BEHAVIOR to a new level. Stanley is a star correspondent for KRON-TV in San Francisco, hosting the hit segment PEOPLE BEHAVING BADLY.



Stanley behaved with nothing but kindness, hosting Highway to a Husband during our first visit to the San Francisco Bay area, and even giving me some dating advice!


THANKS to Stanley and everyone at KRON for putting those with bad manners under the microscope. We can all learn what NOT to do by watching others!

South Florida's own Marlon Ollivierre and Ty Hodges are taking their talents and careers to a new level with their latest creation.  As writers, actors and producers, these two friends and colleagues describe You, Me & The Circus as "a fantasy, drama, musical in the vein of some of the great writers/directors of screen and stage..."
Ollivierre and Hodges have teamed up with Producer Omar Epps (Love & Basketball, House) to create a story exploring the complex, comical, circus-like and sometimes tragic nature of relationships.

It is an honor for Highway to a Husband to support such an exciting and forward-thinking project. It is especially fulfilling for Julia, to see former WTVJ colleague Ollivierre go after his dreams and making them reality. It is that kind of vision, drive and self-determination which powers Highway to a Husband and the desire to create change to make our own destiny!
